About BC-TRBO

BC-TRBO is a Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) network based in British Columbia, Canada. It connects amateur radio operators across the province and beyond through a network of MOTOTRBO repeaters and C-Bridge infrastructure.

Our mission is to provide reliable, wide-area digital voice communications for amateur radio users while supporting emergency communications and community initiatives.

What is BC-TRBO?

BC-TRBO is part of the larger family of regional DMR networks, partnering closely with CAN-TRBO, PNW DMR, and the DMR-MARC networks. We offer coverage throughout British Columbia, with a growing number of UHF DMR repeaters linked via IP.

The network supports dynamic talkgroup routing, allowing users to communicate locally, regionally, or internationally using a handheld or mobile DMR radio.

Technology Overview

BC-TRBO uses a Rayfield C-Bridge to link repeaters and manage talkgroup routing. This infrastructure allows us to offer flexible connectivity and seamless roaming across the network.

- Repeaters: Multiple repeaters across BC, including coverage on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, and the Interior.
- Timeslots: Most repeaters use two timeslots, typically configured for local and wide-area talkgroups.
- Hotspot Support: We provide MMDVM servers for both simplex and duplex hotspots. These allow users outside repeater coverage to access the network.
